I was in Safeway the other night after band practice when I spied this concoction under the fluorescents in the drink aisle. I was confused. It didn't seem possible. Someone, arguably sane since they held a job with a major corporation, had the idea to combine Bud Light with the juice of clams and tomatoes and then succeeded in pushing it all the way to market. Wow. I'm impressed. I can't say that I'm impressed by the taste since I haven't worked up the nerve to try it. It is currently refrigerating in my kitchen.
For those who doubt the clam truth-from Wikipedia
Clamato (a portmanteau of "clam" and "tomato") is a trademark of the Mott's company which denotes a drink made primarily of reconstituted tomato juice concentrate and reconstituted dried clam broth, with a dash of high fructose corn syrup, and USDA Red 40 to maintain a 'natural' tomato colour. It is also referred to colloquially as "clamato juice".
