This is NOT your Father's Tree House. Not even close. This a great example of imaginative modern architectural design. Architect Robert Harvey Oshatz finished building this Portland Oregon home in 2004.
I realize this isn't for everyone but I would be quite happy in a house that's literally part of the landscape. Imagine how the wildlife would assimilate themselves to your home or maybe it's more appropriate to say that you're the visitor assimilating to their home.
