Another new technology that brings serious fx capabilities to desktop computers. The continued evolution of computer effects software is going to change the industry as much as internet distribution. When you get to the point where I can create Lord of the Rings style effects on my new MacPro and distribute the finished film via the web directly to your TV the game changes.
I'll admit that it is kinda weird to see a director of this stature doing online branded entertainment. That being said, it is very well done. Ridley Scott's company produced. It certainly looks like they had a good time.

We are doing a shoot over at the Academy of Sciences in San Francisco this week. The Academy is undergoing a $500 million renovation at the moment and the scene is amazing. Basically, a small city has blossomed to take on the project. Renzo Piano is the architect of what is going to be one of the largest green buildings of its kind. It has a living roof and over 60,000 photo voltaic cells for solar energy. It is set to re-open next year.
We had a great shoot last weekend for one of our new clients. Shooting with one of our favorite crews at Golden Gate Studios here in Marin. Everything we're doing these days is in HD. Becuase of the image quality and our fantastic gaffer we get great seperation for compositing and effects. It's a brave new world and we're loving it.
